RÜEGG / TROPEANO
New in the Collection
10 June - 26 July 2015

Arthur Rüegg (*1942) and Ruggero Tropeano (*1955) are deeply committed teachers, researchers and architects – but also passionate collectors. They are interested in the programmatic buildings of Swiss modernism and their interiors, which they expertly restore and reconstruct at exhibitions. Over a period of decades they have put together a study collection of pioneering pieces of furniture and everyday objects. This treasure, so deeply imbued with knowledge, has now been integrated in the Design Collection of the Museum für Gestaltung and documented with the support of the two donors: 280 pieces by well-known designers such as Le Corbusier, Max Ernst Haefeli, Werner Max Moser, Gerrit Rietveld or Wassili Luckhardt. With the series “New in the Collection” the Museum celebrates this important donation and presents selected individual pieces and ensembles.

The educational program of the exhibition opens a dialogue by means of a Collection Talk.
