The newly created video work Unerringly she pinned it down. She does not like to put it there. by Luzie Meyer can be seen for the first time in the Nassauischer Kunstverein Wiesbaden. The video is the starting point for a series of experimental works, dealing with a distrust of a poetic and scientific terminology.Luzie Meyer discusses the importance of language as a primary communication tool and its accompanying responsibilities. What is language? How understandable should it be and how important are authorship and self-narration in the use of language?

In the video, an obsessive, self-centered narrative voice encounters images and contexts which sometimes seem not to be recognized or titled adequately. The artists voice is used together with rhythmic, sharp montages, music and sounds as a compositional tool, to externalize conflicts that are inherent to the precarious experience of subjectivity. In a monologic manner the voice questions itself, but also challenges its environment. In the field of tension of the self and the other, the inside and outside, it reflects its own situation as a manipulated and manipulative authority.

Luzie Meyers films, videos, performances, and audio works discuss the possibility and impossibility of the self in different contexts. Philosophical ideas are contrasted with everyday matters and conventional constructs of meaning and sense are questioned. Recurring themes such as the incarnation of the word of sadomasochism, solipsism, absurdity and nonsense are used, to question the self-perception of the present.
