„A fully intentional twist of words! To show my dearest fellow artists, each with their most special discipline, this is my approach.” This is how Helga Schmidhuber (*1972, Wiesbaden) describes her curatorial idea.
Already two years after her graduation at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, where she studied in Albert Oehlens class, she made her impressive debut with a first institutional solo-exhibition in the Nassauischer Kunstverein in 2002. Helga Schmidhuber is making an artistic creed with her exhibition My castle is your home: True to the motto “This is my belief. This is what I want to show you.”

The Kunstverein opens its doors for her as a guest curator. The invited artists should feel comfortable in her “stronghold”. This is why she will allow a private look into her collection – her guestroom so to say – in the form of an installation. The focus of the exhibition lies on her colleagues and friends, whom she got to know during her studies or different residencies.

The fellow artists from Düsseldorf, Köln, Berlin, München, Wien, Paris and Pittsburgh all share something in common: They all show unique, distinctive artistic positions in different media. We look forward to an intensive and personal exhibition.
