A paradox, the unconditional faith in oneself and the simultaneous devotion to something superior: the title of the exhibition is already a challenge.
You may see it as a thesis, as defiant principle, or as a result of the daily artistic work. At least one will not remain unaffected.

Especially not with the works of young artists before you, who are facing this challenge. Because naturally the question arises, how - and whether – the individual works meet the title of the exhibition: where are contentual similarities or formal allusionsconcealed? Are they at all concealed or do they appear clearly and confidently? And how far may a work diverge from actual the title of the exhibition?

But perhaps these questions aren’t necessary. After all, can’t each individual artistic position serve as evidence for the title of the exhibition?

Curator of the exhibition is Florian Heinke. The show was created during his teaching assignment for painting at the Art Academy of Mainz and displays works from the class of Prof. Friedemann Hahn. Origin and purpose of the exhibition is the brainchild of the Kunstverein Wiesbaden, to present an artist, who has already had an in house exhibition, as curator.
The exhibition "No God and his children." by Florian Heinke ran from mid-January to early March 2012.
