BARRY MACGREGOR JOHNSTON
“Wild Knock”
May 4th – June 14th, 2008
Opening reception: Sunday, May 4th, 6-9pm
INFLUENCE IN BLOOD
bring your breath to my neck
the lightning of my name to my chain
Come as teeth
to gleam from the weeds
or falling leaves through a noose
raked into a pile
for the end of seasons
for the end of seasons
out of the mask.
Are we going there?
Into the blackout?
Old smoke hangin’
in the street
gotta clear it away with the day
to see the planets
by the light of the stars
every moment in the air
We are the stone that skips on death
every moment in the air
surrounding nothing always coming back
with longer hair
with longer name
to life
