The Winners of The 58th Salon De Montrouge
In The Context of The 12th Biennale De Lyon

After “Des présents inachevés”, the first salvo of the Extramural Modules presented in the new Euronews building at the official opening of the 12th Biennale de Lyon, the Palais de Tokyo is taking up residence in the Musée des Tissus and the Musée des Arts décoratifs in Lyon to present award winners from the 58th Salon de Montrouge: Justine Pluvinage, Nøne Futbol Club, and Pierre Seinturier.
Within just a few years the program represented by the Pierre Bergé - Yves Saint Laurent Foundation Modules has become a must-see experimental tool, a real laboratory of creative work that reflects the dynamism and vitality of the art scene. To make them more widely available, the Palais de Tokyo sends the Modules on their travels to coincide with major international events, and in the context of the Biennale de Lyon it is presenting the works of three young artists in innovative locations.
Justine Pluvinage, Nøne Futbol Club, and Pierre Seinturier, award winners from the 58th Salon de Montrouge, are taking up residence in the Musée des Tissus and the Musée des Arts décoratifs. Founded in 1856 at the request of Lyon industrialists as offshoots of the first Exposition universelle, and managed ever since by the Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Musée des Tissus and the Musée des Arts décoratifs were the first museums of applied industrial art to be created in France. Right from the beginning their remit has been to provide fresh inspiration for contemporary creativity through the finest examples from the past.
The Salon de Montrouge, organized and funded by the municipality of Montrouge, is a showplace for some 80 emerging artists each year. Every artist selected presents a group of works at the Salon, enabling visitors to gain an understanding of his or her artistic work in optimum conditions. For the fifth year running award winners at the Salon are being accorded an exhibition as part of the Palais de Tokyo’s Pierre Bergé - Yves Saint Laurent Foundation Modules.
