Javier Peres is very pleased to present artist Dan Colen in his first solo exhibition in Los Angeles. We will present Colen's sculptural installation Secrets and Cymbals, Smoke and Scissors (My Friend Dash's Wall in the Future).

For the exhibition, the artist will present his first completed sculptural painting in three dimensions, created in 2004. The work is a full-scale recreation of an interior wallspace on a base of paint, Styrofoam and paper. The back side of the wall-framing, wood and drywall fragments included-are rendered in the same materials.

Dan Colen (b. 1979, New Jersey) lives and works in New York.

"SECRETS AND CYMBALS, SMOKE AND SCISSORS (MY FRIEND DASH'S WALL IN THE FUTURE)" featuring Dan Colen will be on view at Peres Projects Los Angeles (969 Chung King Road, LA) through April 29, 2006. Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, from 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
