Hans Bellmer
29 Jun - 27 Aug 2006
This is Germany's first museum exhibition for a quarter of a century dedicated to the work of Hans Bellmer who was a leading German Surrealist. Bellmer's reputation was based largely on his drawings, a great number of which are to be shown for the first time at this exhibition. In addition there will be photographs and some sculptured objects on display. Among them is the famous doll which serves as a point of departure for Bellmer's obsessive investigations into the anatomy of the unknown.
The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue. Taken from the Centre Pompidou, Paris.
