At Home
7 February - 30 March 2014

The Pump House Gallery is delighted to present At Home, a major touring exhibition by artist Hetain Patel.

At Home will include existing and newly commissioned work by Patel. This exhibition at the Pump House Gallery will mark a shift in the artist’s work, as the result of a new approach by the artist to his way of working. At Home started with the artist taking self-portraits followed by the inclusion of other protagonists in his images – but, for this exhibition, using a technique called Rotoscoping, Patel will introduce animation and movement into his practice for the first time.

At Home shows Patel’s relationship with the domestic, both in his family context and in the place where he exhibits. Working with his mother and a mother who lives close to the Gallery as the main subjects of his work, the artist will show different cultures together whilst remaining as a spectator as part of the experimentation process of his work.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of free family workshops on every Sunday (12 noon - 4pm). These workshops are open to all and of varied themes.

At Home is a touring exhibition produced by New Art Exchange, Nottingham.
