The Pumphouse Project

People Show are taking over The Pumphouse Gallery in May 2011 as part of the Wandsworth Arts Festival. This theatre company creates multi-disciplinary and multi-media experiences and are doing so in collaboration with students from Roehampton University, and the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. The company are currently in residence for the weeks leading up to the show and working with Wandsworth arts groups, Battersea Park visitors and local residents to create a show that reflects on the Pump House’s relationship with the people of Battersea.

They will present:
People Show 122: THE PUMP HOUSE PROJECT 11- 15 May 2011.
Ghosts are about, and some have dogs. Magical water features are created by human fountains. The Pump House itself is transformed to present living local stories from its 150 years history.

People Show began in 1966 and have created 121 shows. They are often cited as ‘the UK’s longest standing devising company’ The People Show has performed all over the UK in streets, fields, night clubs, telephone boxes, toilets, parks, trains, glasshouses and even in theatres. International tours include La Mama, New York; The Mickery, Amsterdam; Paris Theatre Mecanique; Sarajevo Festival; Berlin’s Akademie der Kunst and Hamburg’s Deutsche Schauspiel Haus.
