AGATHE SNOW
29.10. - 04.12.2010

The artist Agathe Snow, born in 1976, lives and works in New York. Although she became known through her performances – take, for example, her legendary dance marathons and dinner parties for hundreds of people in New York – Agathe Snow also works in other media. Her sculptural objects, for example, are apocalyptic installations fabricated from a multitude of artefacts gleaned from the flea markets of New York. At the Rüdiger Schöttle Gallery, Agathe Snow will be showing her film “Total Workout Video”, in which a troupe of models in Jane Fonda-style aerobic outfits show how ladies can keep their cool even in the most awkward of situations. Overacting to the extreme, they teach us “How to Behave when Meeting Jesus” or “How to Get Off Easy when Pulled Over by the Cops”. At the beginning of 2011, the Deutsche Guggenheim will be mounting a solo exhibition of new works by Agathe Snow.
