LIVE PROJECTS 1: MARK DI SUVERO
13 - 30 September 2013
SFMOMA's education and public programs leave the building behind with Live Projects, a bimonthly series diving into the art and ideas of contemporary artists showcased in SFMOMA exhibitions.
Unfolding at diverse locations throughout the Bay Area, these events explore how the work of particular artists opens new and alternative perspectives on who we are and where and how we live. Each installment of Live Projects is anchored by an artist talk or talks at SFJAZZ Center, with a circuit of film screenings, artist commissions, workshops, family programs, and more inviting audiences on a journey through the cultural and physical geography of our region.
Our inaugural Live Projects series is inspired by Mark di Suvero. Considering the connections between abstraction and politics, poetry and sculpture, art and immigration, events engage with both di Suvero's art and his personal story.
