MAMA presents Raamproject V (Window Project V) in collaboration with Wes Westenburger from 28th December until 21st January. In 2008 Wes Westenburger developed the travelling performance Wes's Circo Papi Kuko. During Raamproject V elements from the original performance shall be shown again. The work consists of circus costumes made by Lichensteiner/Swiss art collective Salon Liz, who are Anna Hilti, Stefanie Thöny and Anita Zumbühl.

The Raamproject V sets the stage for The Adventures of the Great Abnerio, a solo exhibition by storyteller Abner Preis, which runs from January 22nd at MAMA. The exhibition throws a spotlight on the character The Great Abnerio and his worldly travels. The work of Abner Preis and Wes Westenburger meet in their fascination with the circus and its performers.

Wes Westenburger graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy in 2008 and shortly after broke his neck leaving him physically handicapped. During the 2011 Rotterdam International Film Festival (IFFR) Wes Westenburger and Abner Preis will join forces to make a circus show and movie. Under the direction of Wes Westenburger, The Great Abnerio's circus stops off at YourSpace. Playing the lead role The Great Abnerio will be joined by a troop of actors and the resulting movie shall be premiered at the IFFR on February 5, 2011.

During the build-up of MAMA's exhibitions the showroom's windows are used to stage art projects. MAMA's Raamproject provides its volunteers, The Rookies, with the opportunity to fulfil the role of junior curator using its windows as a presentation space. The Rookies organising Raamproject V are Lena Rufli (1987, Wiesbaden) en Eva Nobbe (1990, Utrecht). Lena studied Leisure Management at the Willem de Kooning Academy, Rotterdam. Eva is currently in her second year studying Cultural Heritage at the Reinwardt Academy, Amsterdam
