BLOOMBERG NEW CONTEMPORARIES 2018
5 December 2018 – 24 February 2019
Bloomberg New Contemporaries returns to the South London Gallery for the first time since 1999. Guest selectors Benedict Drew, Katy Moran (New Contemporaries alumni 2006) and Keith Piper (New Contemporaries alumni 1986) have chosen 57 artists for the annual open submission touring exhibition.
Bloomberg New Contemporaries offers an insight into today’s creative practices, showcasing some of the most dynamic work being made by emergent artists. The exhibition spans the SLG’s main site and the Fire Station, and features drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, performances and video. Migration, borders, cultural and gender identity, as well as the use of technology are strong thematic threads running through the works on show.
PERFORMANCES
Panicattack Duo present a durational performance in the Main Gallery every Wednesday, 1–9pm and Saturday, 10am–6pm (except Wednesday 26 December). For more information on the programme of performances click here.
