Theatrical and exaggerated but at the same time intimate and nearby
We pleased to present the sculptural paper works of Karen Sargsyan at Suzie-Q Projects. His room filling installations are populated by bizarre figures, which he fabricates by cutting, painting and glueing pieces of paper together. The interacting figures appear to preform some kind of strange theatrical scenario and remind us of historical compositions. The artist, born 1973 in Armenia lives and works in Amsterdam; from February to April 2008 he is guest artist at the Villa Romana, Florence.
