Calla Henkel was born in 1988 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Max Pitegoff was born in 1987 in Boston, Massachusetts. The pair have worked collaboratively since attending Cooper Union School of Art in New York, both graduating in 2011. Pitegoff and Henkel have had solo exhibitions at T293, Naples; Tomorrow Gallery, Toronto; and Cleopatra’s, New York. Recent group exhibitions include: ‘Black Cake’, Team Gallery, New York (2013); ‘Deep Space (Insides)’, Joe Sheftel Gallery, New York (2012); ‘Stars!’ (a performance directed by Matthew Lutz-Kinoy), Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2012); ‘LLL, hc r 1’, Kunsthalle Bern (2012); ‘July’, CEO Gallery, Malmö (2012); and ‘Asiataco’, Tanya Leighton, Berlin (2012). They ran the bar Times in Berlin from July, 2011 to September, 2012.
