CARA BENEDETTO
How Fake Stakes Ate the Cake
28 October – 23 December, 2011,

This is the artist’s first solo exhibition in New York.
Benedetto received her MFA from Columbia University in 2009. She currently teaches at Columbia University and works as a program director at an NYC based non-profit. Benedetto has exhibited in several group exhibitions at venues that include Berkeley Art Museum, Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, Night Gallery and Gavin Brown's Enterprise. Through Trade School she has held experimental workshops that utilize analytic tools via the act of reading and writing to create sympathetic situations. She is a founding member of art collectives MADAM and Holding Her Shape Collects as well as Communications Director for H.E.N.S. Benedetto will be performing a series of readings and experiments in reading each Saturday at noon throughout the course of the show.
