KALUP LINZY
Revelation 23:7 His Rod Got Gold In it
October 14 th to November 11 th , 2006
Opening reception, Saturday October 14 th , 6-8 pm
Two added to three added to seven equals twelve multiplied by two videos equals twenty-four drawings. Revelation is an uncovering or disclosure via communication from the divine of something that has been partially or wholly hidden or unknown. My creator was born on the twenty-third day, seventh month of the year. There are many like me, Labisha, Taiwan, Katessa, and Julietta to name a few, who evolve in a soap opera. After losing love, a job, and the sense of who I was, I conversated with God and embraced one of the other men in my dream. No clue to where that road would lead.
-Katonya. 2006
