From 1o September to 31 October 2o1o, TENT. presents a large group exhibition with installations, paintings, photography, sculpture and videos by a self-confident generation of Surinamese and Dutch artists. The exhibition is the conclusion to an intensive artistic exchange between artists from Rotterdam and Paramaribo. How do cultural background and historical baggage influence our perspective on current social issues? Themes such as ancestry and future, history and politics, cultural identity and social topicality are examined and discussed in the context of art.
As part of Paramaribo Perspectives, TENT. is organizing a comprehensive side programme, which includes film evenings compiled by Karel Doing, a series of debates i.c.w. De Unie and an extensive educational programme.
