This is the third in the In Focus series, an ongoing part of the exhibition programme at the Gallery. In Focus links together, using a broad theme, the topics of the current exhibitions.
The London-based photographer, Richard Okon has embarked on a series of personal journeys to visit residents of pre-fabricated homes in different parts of the UK, particularly those built immediately after WWII. In taking these photographs Okon captures the personality and character of the buildings, as well as portraying the residents’ relationships with their homes while alluding to a sense of a rapidly diminishing community.
