Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, step right up for a look at the state of Egypt through the successes and struggles of one of the most magical government departments, the State Circus.
John Perkins, a British photographer, has been following the circus around Egypt for four years. He has accumulated a series of photographs depicting their lives on and off the stage. A selection of photographs will be showcased in Townhouse’s First Floor space, alongside an installation of circus objects in his exhibition entitled “Mister President’s Circus.” Performers from the circus have been invited to perform during the opening at 9 pm.
