BLINDED TOURIST
Travelprogram

March 21 - 28, 2010, 11:00 - 19:00

Caroline Doherty, Davide Savorani, Henrique César de Oliveira, Mariëlle Videler, Zhou Bin

Four foreign artists and their hostess, Mariëlle Videler, will take up residence in the middle of the rear space of W139. None of the selected guests have been to Amsterdam before. For the full 8 days of BLINDED TOURIST they will not leave the building. Marielle Videler gives her four guests an environment largely designed and created by herself. They will get to know the city through her and the experts she has selected. During their stay, the blinded tourists will be in W139 where viewers can observe and visit them during opening hours. On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 March they will give a presentation of their findings. We invite you to come to W139 on Sunday 28 March at 16:00 hour for a drink and to say good-bye to Davide, Henrique, Caroline and ZhouBin.
TRAVEL PROGRAM
The sequence of days will be devoted to different aspects of the city: its history, inhabitants, biology and spatial structures. Mariëlle Videler created a ‘travel program’ around five topics FOOD, HISTORY, PEOPLE, ART & NATURE. The program consists of two parts: a day and an evening program. During the day we have contact with five reporters, our ears and eyes of the outside world. The reporters will be on hand to help the residents and carry out the research tasks they have been given. The second part is an evening program, a series small scale and personal meetings with different experts. The evening program is, with personal exchange in mind, limited open for visitors.
