White Cube

Tracey Emin

27 May - 26 Jun 2005

White Cube is pleased to announce an exhibition of new work by one of Britain's most celebrated artists Tracey Emin.

Emin's art discloses the intimate details of her life across a range of media: drawing, filmmaking, installation, painting, neon, photography, sewn work and sculpture. Emin exposes herself, her hopes, humiliations, failures and successes in a direct and frank manner. Often tragic and frequently humorous, it is as if by telling her story and weaving it into the fiction of her art she transforms her idiosyncratic obsessions into issues of broader relevance.

Emin has exhibited extensively including solo and group exhibitions in Germany, Japan, Australia and America. In 1999 she was short-listed for the Turner Prize at the Tate Gallery (London). She has had solo shows at Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), Haus der Kunst (Munich), Modern Art Oxford and Art Gallery of New South Wales (Australia) 2003.

A fully illustrated catalogue with a text by Rudi Fuchs will accompany the exhibition.
