RADEK SZLAGA
"Iconoclasm"
January 24th - March 7th 2010
Opening Saturday, 23.01.2010
In his first solo exhibition in Asian, Radek Szlaga proofs that the young Polish generation is becoming a position to be recognized with. During his 2 month long artist-in-residence stay at our Beijing studio he has been working intensely on his ‘Iconoclasm'-project. Szlaga breaks with all dogmas and defies the classical presentation of the image. He shows us the result of an ongoing examination between representations and symbols - seeking the purity of an objective world - with a belief in infinity. The conflict with nature and the use of "icons", which he unites in his pictures in the search of an absolute reality, is actually an expression of his personal philosophy .
