At first we were planning the "typical" Moukhin's exhibition - choosing fifty best images from hundreds, then printing, framing and you know... But when we saw the whole material, about 400 plus images - and they're all good without doubt - we felt really sorry that nobody would see this impressive chronical for a long time. Just because any exhibition, even the most exciting one, is always a curator's ar artist's choice. Whatever you choose and select from hundreds of images, they'd be more than fifty anyway. So we decided to combine exhibition of two parts. The first includes the "classical" display of brilliant Moukhin's photographs (hand printed gelatine silver print in frames and passe-partout). The second is the long line stapled along the gallery walls, made of index prints, that give more than a chance to see Moukhin's mastership, but the whole 20-year long history of Russia, thrilled by rallies and protest marches.. When looking at these hundreds of photographs you are captured by enormous energy of protest, feel the drive and threat of those years.
