Andersens

Begun as a project space in Berlin, Andersens Contemporary—originally Andersens Wohnung is the brainchild of Danish artist Claus Andersen and German artists Thilo Heinzmann and Anselm Reyle.

Having made strong connections with many rising German artists, Andersen moved back to his native Copenhagen in 2004 and opened the new gallery which has since hosted a myriad of exhibitions including works by Olafur Eliasson, Tomas Saraceno, Thiago Rocha Pitta and Malene Landgreen.

With a commitment to representing artists whose work intersects the connections between art, culture and modern political currents, the gallery helps keep Copenhagen’s stance in the art world fresh and challenging.
