Andréhn-Schiptjenko is pleased to present Meta Isæus-Berlin’s third solo exhibition at the gallery. The opening takes place Thursday September 25, 5-8 p.m.
Meta Isæus-Berlin has recently had a solo exhibition entitled “Fickla vrårna” at Liljevalchs Konsthall in Stockholm. Her works have been shown at the biennales in Melbourne, Venice, Istanbul and Johannesburg. Among earlier exhibitions the following can be mentioned; Kiasma Collection, Kiasma, Helsingfors, På:Tiden, Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Hjemme Igen, Arken, Copenhagen and See What it Feels Like, Rooseum, Malmö.
In the exhibition at Andréhn-Schiptjenko, a new series of paintings will be presented. Meta Isæus-Berlin comments on Imprints and Filtering:
"I was always fascinated by dreams and reality - how they fertilize and traverse each other and occasionally change places.
And by the course of time. Even in a furious pace of existence, you may feel that the time stands still. Recurrence, the same theme, with eyes wide open or shut. Images of reality do not exist, as soon as I try to create them, they disappear. Slowly pictures emerge by sorting and filtering. They originate in a web or a landscape shaped by this slithering interplay.
The exhibition is a wave motion between imprinting and filtering. Impressions and processing and the tension in between."
In connection with the exhibition, a catalogue with a text by Monica Nieckels will be published.
The exhibition opens on September 25 and runs through October 19. The gallery is open Tuesday-Friday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 12 noon – 4 p.m..
