NowhereSomewhere
8 October - 9 November 2016

Get moving and get your imagination flowing with Rosalind Fowler’s pedal powered installation.

Help us generate power for a 2-screen film projection using the bicycles that make up part of the installation, and ponder the ecological themes, images and ideas for a future London. Weaving together hand-processed 16mm and digital footage, NowhereSomewhere looks at the politics and poetics of Organiclea, a London based food-growing co-operative, and empowers gardeners to imagine their own version of utopian London.

NowhereSomewhere takes inspiration from William Morris’s ‘ecotopian’ novel News from Nowhere, and considers the similarities and resonance between Morris’s visions for a future London and this gardening community in the Borough of Waltham Forest. As part of the work, audience members will be invited to share their own dreams and visions of an imaginary future London.

The sound for NowhereSomewhere was created in collaboration with sound artist Andrej Bako.
