JAN ROTHUIZEN & DAVID MILES
"Ghosts and Other Stories" - New drawings, aquarels, inks and mobiles

A self in a portrait and a self in a self-potrait without self. Togheter, these mutually complementing works touch on the core of Rothuizen’s work: the desire to record what is present in absence, in what cannot be named or found. Rothuizen demonstrates that the presetnation of this question is always implicitly contained in representation. (Suzanne van de Ven)

Jan Rothuizen publishes regularly in De Groene Amsterdammer an VN. In Ghosts and Other Stories Jan Rothuizen will showt new drawings and inks.

David Miles tells stories by showing only the essiential elements. Cut out framgments are hung together, as hovering text bubbels containing only silhouettes, significant pictogrmans. They tell gripping ‘local stories’, the kind you sometimes read about, but always seem too good - or rather too sad to be true. (Arjan Reinders)
In the Ghosts and Other Stories David Miles presents 3 new mobiles and a serie of 30 aquarel drawings. These drawings trees of remind you of the search for new figures and stories in clouds and shadows, like you often did as a child.
