NOT-DOING
Friday 4 September 2009 - Sunday 6 September 2009 , 10am - Close
Metamorphosis and change are key to human and insect life and remind us we co-exist and are part of the same planet. Artist Jane Wafer creates human-sized chrysalises which represent this similarity and difference. These sculptures take their title from The Eagle’s Gift, by Carlos Castaneda, in which he tells of being suspended from a tree all night in a ‘Not-Doing’, a rite of passage on his path to becoming a shaman.
