The international group exhibition Pictured as a Poem at KAI 10 | ARTHENA FOUNDATION explores the use of lyrical language in contemporary art. It focuses on the associative spaces that open up visually when poetry is used in text works, paintings, videos and expansive installations. More and more visual artists today are following poetic paths. They touch on questions of personal and collective identity and capture the quiet nuances of interpersonal sentiment. A unifying thread lies in the interest in the interplay between author(s) and real or imagined recipient(s), which is why the text forms of poem and (love) letter occupy a special role in the exhibition.
