Researchers Leena-Maija Rossi and Marja-Terttu Kivirinta have curated Kiasma's summer exhibition (Un)naturally, which comprises works by nine male artists. (Un)naturally reshuffles the sexes, looking for femininity as well as masculinity in works created by men. Nature and the artificial are among the subject matters of the works.
Leena Maija-Rossi and Marja-Terttu Kivirinta have chosen nine male artists for the exhibition. “Some of the artists do not shy away from decorativeness or home decoration or from presenting a hairy back as beautiful. Some comment peacefully on violence while some depict strangeness in a tender manner. Some find inspiration in homosexuality while others have the formation of heterosexuality as their motif.
