Born in the 80s, the members of "Gelatine Age" as they are referenced, grew up whitin a fast-evolving Chinese society. Their colorful world borrows glamorous, kitsch and design of plastic games, idols and other trendy manga characters that become symbols of their movement.
The exhibition Infantization poses the question of how young Chinese artists face the perpetual flow of current events. By means of this hybrid collection of artistic forms, the exhibition examines how the "Gelatine Generation" contributes to the development of a new visual arts culture that is expressive of the nature of China in the 21st century.
