MARILENA PREDA SÂNC
Crossing Self-Histories 1981-2011

"The anatomy of the project urges us to a self-referential journey as an expression of subjective concerns not only related to
philosophical issues but also to social and political ones. Marilena Preda Sanc proposes a look over decades of constant activity, an equally historical and conceptual crossing through personal stories captured in the four major topics: body-landscape, modules, globe and feminisms.

Color is key to the grammar of painting, a visceral color replacing the words and refusing to rest as a body solicited to exhaustion. "For me the color is air, sound, meat. I think in it faster than in words. "(MPS)

It is visible in paintings, collages, book-objects, the escape in a strange world boosted by trenchant constructions and physicalities often absorbed in a dry area. On the other hand, not as a rupture, but only as a complement to other means, approached since
the 1990s, there are the (globe)object, the video performace and multimedia installations, perfecting the personal anxieties, this time
not for the propensity to escape into the utopian space, but for everyday realities.

Her art work consists in: drawing, painting object, collage, artist book, visual experimental poetry, media installation, video, performing arts, and mural art. From 1980 she exhibited her art work in many national / international solo / group exhibition, festivals, symposiums. Her art writings are focused on electronic art and art in public space."
