The mountain and the rainbow are emblematically anchored in the passionate collectors couple Paul and Marie-Rose Declercq-Benoot: modest profundity and colourfull lust for life are the two motives of their art collection. Soft melancholy and southern temperament come together in a unique symbiosis of which the exhibition provides a fragmented blueprint in a playful dialogue with new or as yet unseen work by Hans Vandekerckhove.

Interested in the process of collecting as a reflection/expression of the owner’s identity, we are excited to present our thirth edition of ‘Private Collection Selected By.’ During this summer exhibition we present works from a private collection chosen by a gallery artist who is also part of the collection. This time Ghent-based artist Hans Vandekerckhove (BE, 1957) has the honour to make a selection from the collection of Paul & Marie-Rose Declercq-Benoot which holds historical as well as contemporary work.
