From September 29, Galerie Thomas Schulte will present the first solo presentation of the painter Jonas Weichsel. Born in Darmstadt in 1982, the artist first studied in Mainz and Düsseldorf before completing his Meisterschüler at Städelschule Frankfurt. His installation "Echo Box" is a window painting that was specifically designed for the gallery space. In the course of the exhibition, the window installation will be juxtaposed in alternation by a medium-sized, abstract painting. Weichsel's image-space concept is based on the artist’s practice which operates across the boundaries of immateriality and a tangible, material presence.
