Juan Uslé: Norte Abierto
14 Sep - 28 Oct 2023
Galerie Thomas Schulte is pleased to announce Juan Uslé’s fourth solo exhibition at the gallery, opening on 13 September, on the occasion of Berlin Art Week 2023.
Juan Uslé has developed a rich painterly oeuvre that operates in the space between pure abstraction and emotionally intense subjective expression. Since the early 1980s, he sought to create paintings informed—on a meta-narrative level—by his personal experience, while also reflecting the fundamental rules of his pictorial vocabulary.
In his exhibition in Galerie Thomas Schulte, he presents several medium-scale paintings created in the last year. They incorporate the poetic-emotional conceptualism that permeates Uslé’s visual universe down to its essence; the structural conditions of painting and the pictorial process.
Parallel to Uslé’s works, in the Corner Space of the gallery, an installation by Willem de Rooij will be on view.
