Berlin-based artist, Michael Müller will be covering the entire exhibition space of Galerie Thomas Schulte in his presentation for Gallery Weekend 2017. The two parallel exhibitions "Teil 18. Die Welt gibt es nicht!" and "Teil 33. Nachlass zu Lebzeiten" represent the conclusion of his exhibition cycle, which he began in spring 2013. The basis of his cycle is the extensive engagement with the novel "The Man Without Qualities". Robert Musil's unfinished masterpiece consisting of over a thousand pages serves as an inspiration for the discourse on the conditions and premises with which artists articulate art and in which art becomes art. While Müller utilized his own creative actions in various mediums to have servient function within the thematic stagings of his previous exhibitions, he, in conclusion, deliberately and decisively emphasizes his own vision and artistic formulation in a series of new paintings, drawings, and sculptures.
