WEI JIA
"In the Distant Fields and Smoky Woods"

In 2007, Wei Jia won the "AAC-The Most Influential Participants of Chinese Art - Young Artist award."
As Chinese art is wrapped in enthusiasm, Wei Jia and artists of his generation displayed a novel style in modern Chinese art through fresh themes and painting styles. The main difference from previous generations is that the external motivation for expression was replaced by something internal, that Wei Jia guided these images from the act of introspectively reexamining himself. Discoveries, farewells, injured bodies, battles, angels' wings, etc., these childhood motifs are depicted with strong strokes and precise descriptions. The artist's psychological state and deep emotions are well expressed by the intertwining of darkness and light within the frame. These paintings, romantic and filled with anxiety, are sure to charm many.
