Holography, which already began to emerge in the 1940s, is a successful, comprehensive spatial representation of objects and structures, which in their potential application, extend far beyond classical photography. As an imaging technique, in the 1970s holography was considered as a technology of the future, but withdrew into the background with the emergence of digital technologies. The exhibition at the ZKM | Media Museum shows a selection of artistic works from the most important holographic collection at the ZKM | Karlsruhe.
