Ultimately it is sounds, a compilation of things heard and read, that determine the approach for a painterly decryption.
An attempt at classification: weighty sentences and empty words are embedded. The disintegration of meaning and language turns into a visual poetics.
In German, the title Laute means both sounds and lute, the tear-shaped instrument. The works locate themselves among the aural, noise, melody, tone and enunciation.
Overlaps are produced through the continual analysis of relationships shifting between subjective truth, reality and ignorance.
The way the superimpositions are executed stands in contrast to modern robotic text and language forms. The materialisation of time, and representation of both the passage of time and timelessness produces a document of personal overhaul.
The paintings review the content of verbal expression that shapes human thought and significantly influences the way we act.
What we are left with is an unreadable text, that reflects the helplessness of language, from a stutter to a screech.
Non-colour gold references eternity.
