REI SATO
Lehmann Maupin Gallery is thrilled to announce the first New York exhibition of Japanese artist Rei Sato. Drawing from Japanese manga, but also from Impressionism and abstract painting, her daring and bold use of color is highly individual and expressive. Youth and optimism permeate Sato's work. Since 2002, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Coloriage at Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris.
The exhibition will be on view from 26 June through 8 August 2008. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10AM – 6PM. Summer gallery hours begin after 4 July, Tuesday – Friday 10AM – 6PM.
