FOCUS GALLERY: PURVIS YOUNG

Focus Gallery: Purvis Young features paintings primarily from the Permanent Collection that span the career of the self-taught Miami painter whose works, inspired by life in Overtown, are now celebrated throughout the art world. Young passed away in April of this year at the age of 67.

Film screening, 7pm
In collaboration with Miami International Film Festival, MAM will mark the opening of a Purvis Young focus gallery with a special screening of Purvis of Overtown (2006). RSVP@miamiartmuseum.org. Seating is limited. First come, first seated. MAM and MIFF members free, non-members $10
Focus Gallery: Purvis Young is organized by Miami Art Museum, and funded by donations to MAM's Annual Exhibition Fund.
