The visual language of Lausanne-born, Geneva-based artist Yoan Mudry (* 1990) is anchored in contemporary pop culture. In a collage-like manner, he juxtaposes elements and images from advertising campaigns, the world of music, film, comics, art history, and Internet culture. His new project in public space, The Future Doesn’t Need Us, will be his largest work to date, combining recent drawings, text fragments, and sign painted elements, presented on the back wall of Kunsthalle Basel for nearly a year.
